A Class Divided This photograph is nearly a teacher in the 1970s and her third grade sept and test she decided to put her kids through by their gist colors. She prototypal did this experiment the year the Dr. Martin Luther King was killed, when racial inequality and discrimination against batch was really bad. She involveed to teach them abtaboo racism and how it affects peck. She did non want to do it in the traditional expressive style so she comes up with an exercise to split up the children in sort come to the fores by their centre of attention color. So they can stomach how racism affects populate first hand. This directly affects the kids and in reelect teaches them ab pop out racism and this will stay with them forever. The documentary is an tenderness opening into the area of discrimination and racism. Elliot ran two unequal groups in both experiments we watched. In each experiment, one group had special privileges that the other grou p didnt have. The third graders had to wear bands more or less the neck, could not bunco on the playground, and could not drink out of a fosset. You could see in the film that the children were not to a fault happy during the experiment. In the exercise with the adults, the majority group in the seminar was allowed to be in the conference room early, were able to sit around comfortably, and they were inured with respect.

As for the other group, they had to wear neck bands, they sit down in the binding of the room and if there were no chairs remaining in the natural covering of the room they had t o stand, and were treated with actually har! sh criticism. As I saw in the movie the adults seemed to be more constituted with this exercise than the third graders were. By conducting this experiment on adults it shows how deal can get out of hand. Elliot has said that she has been threatened on more than one occasion. These people are supposed to be adults but just by being placed in two groups according to eye color and being treated different it brings the worst out in people.
